CARE at SARC | How to Support a Student Survivor via UC Learning Center
How can UC San Diego staff and faculty best support survivors while fulfilling their reporting responsibilities? This training provides a brief overview of CARE services, the dynamics of interpersonal violence, the reasons survivors choose not to seek support, and CARE’s Five Steps of Responding to Disclosures. Participants then apply this knowledge through case studies and skills-practice scenarios to gain confidence in supporting survivors as responsible employees.
CARE at SARC and CSI iLead | Yes, No Maybe? Clarifying Consent: SAAM Edition
In this workshop, participants will gain a robust understanding of consent by exploring the FRIES model of consent and discussing situations in which consent cannot be given. Participants learn how to ask for, listen for, and respect consent through the usage of scenarios and group dialogue on navigating rejection.

CARE at SARC Healing Program & LGBT Resource Center| Rainbow Reef: Healing as Community in observation of SAAM and Out & Proud Week
Rainbow Reef is a space that centers the intersections of LGBTQIA+ folx and topics of sexual violence, relationship violence and stalking.
CARE at SARC & OPHD | Empowering Employees to Intervene: Sexual Harassment via UC Learning Center
We all have a role to play in creating a workplace free from harassment. In partnership with the Office for the Prevention of Harassment and Discrimination (OPHD) this training empowers participants to move from being a bystander to an upstander. Participants will explore barriers to intervention, learn about CARE at SARC’s IDEAS model, and apply the framework to workplace sexual misconduct scenarios.

Women’s Center & CARE at SARC | Denim Day
Attendees will learn about the history of Denim Day, consent in a digital age and naming/challenging rape culture. Light refreshments will be provided.
CARE at SARC | SAAM Book Club
CARE is launching a book club in recognition of SAAM. Join CARE at SARC in reading Know My Name: A Memoir by Chanel Miller. The memoir is a powerful account of resilience and healing, detailing the author’s journey to reclaim her identity after experiencing sexual assault. Participants can pick up their copy of the book at any CARe tabling events or during CARE at SARC’s open lobby hours during the month of April.
CARE at SARC & OPHD | Empowering Employees to Intervene: Sexual Harassment offered via UC Learning Center

CARE staff will have limited availability during the month of April. We will not be able to fulfill the majority of program requests, and priority consideration will be given to requests submitted before March 1st. We encourage you to promote and attend the SAAM events listed above.
